academic shoot

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion? How did you deal with these?
one of the challenges that i encountered was how people wanted to fake that they were doing something.which made it hard to capture a real moment. i didn't really have a problem getting close to the theater kids because most of them liked it..but it was hard to capture a normal expression from them because they wanted to over act just so it would look good..even though i kept telling them that i cant show anyone this now so it doesn't matter..but when they started faking it i just went to someone else.

2. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most, and how did you make sure you did these correctly?
i thought mostly about focus because at times they were on stage and i couldn't get on stage with them so i had to be sure that i had my camera in focus. in order to do this i just put my camera on automatic.

3. Describe how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques when you shot.
when people were on stage i tried to angle myself in order to use the rule of thirds.
i also tried to make sure things were balanced.

Bob Rosato

Focal length of lens -16-35 mm
Shutter Speed -1/250
What is the effect of shooting at this shutter speed?
so he shot at a medium shutter speed which was high high enough to make the picture clear, but its not perfect.
Aperture-2.8
What is the effect (Depth of field) of shooting at this aperture?
you can see i a little bit of whats going on in the back but, there isn't that much to see..

Position - Describe where you think the photographer was standing to get this shot.
i think the photographer was kneeling on the side line near the hoop.

simplictiy

i choose this photo as an example of simplicity because even to someone who had never heard of 9-11 this photo would be frightening. you see in the photo the rubble in the background, and the fact that they have a pice of something over their head to protect them while they are running away would scare anyone.
even though its a simple photo it shows great emotion.

the rule of thirds

this photo shows how a good photographer would use

Not Merging.

this is a good example of not merging. the photographer could have easily cut off the man in front. they coul dhave cut his arm off from the shot. but they didnt. by doing so they created a sense of alarm, or fear.
